Salad
Jello is recognized as the official snack of the state of Utah, where over half the population are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In this family and community centered culture, lowbrow get-together meals yield variations of colored gelatin snacks, embellished with a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, condiments, and other ingredients. These eclectic concoctions are archived in ward cookbooks, an assemblage of recipes shared by local congregation members. I am visualizing these creations as a means of exploring the interconnection of faith, food, community, culture, heritage, and history.
